Bhosari, formerly known as Bhojapur is located 14 kilometres towards the north of Pune in the Pimpri-Chinchwad district. This locality was named after the legendary King Bhoj who ruled several central parts of India almost two thousand years back. MIDC is known for housing premier manufacturing companies like Telco (TATA), Kirloskar, Century Enka, Thermax, Emcure, Patni and Mahindra Hinoday. Bhosari is divided into two parts, one managed by the Gaothan area and the other which is under the Pradhikaran area. With the nearby area of Moshi coming up with an International Convention Centre, the Township is gearing up to get a new look and better infrastructure. The Lake Garden developed by PCMC is a popular picnic spot which houses a meditation hall, picnic spot and toy train. Alandi and Dehu are two major pilgrimage centres located close to Bhosari.
Bhosari is located at the prime junction of Pune-Nasik Highway and is connected to the surrounding areas of Dighi, Moshi and Pimpri. Landewadi Road that starts from Landewadi Chowk joins Pune-Nasik Highway. The - Expressway is just 6 kilometres away. Highway, Nasik Highway and Spine Road also pass through this locality. The construction of Nasik Phata flyover in Pune has been completed and is expected to be functional very soon. This flyover is built on two levels wherein the first level is a twin flyover from Bhosari to Wakad which is 16 metres in height and 1,800 meters in length. The proposed Airport is also located close to Bhosari which is expected to enhance connectivity in future.
